Supersize Campaign

Interesting to see McDonalds Australia's reaction to the hit documentary Supersize Me. The Adds featuring McDonalds' CEO Guy Russo explaining the "facts" about McDonalds food, and contradicting some of the assertions made in supersize me.

First of all Guy, I don't think anyone in their right mind would genuinely think that eating McDonalds for 30 days straight was going to be a healthy thing to do, it was a political stunt to get in peoples faces... and it succeeded. secondly, Morgan Spurlock was really only interested in the American experience, so the fact that McDonalds have started placing nutritional information on their burger wrappers in Australia (witch I have a feeling has more to do with government regulations than a desire to inform the public) is merely coincidental, and not really relevant to the time and place that this documentary was filmed. Also when he talks about salads having the same amount of fat as a Big Mac, he wasn't referring to the relatively new (over priced) Australian Salads Plus menu. Your campaign is as much an admition of guilt as the silence from McDonalds in the rest of the world is. It would have been better PR-wise for McDonalds to admit this guilt, and focus on the recent changes that have been made, and to promise to do more and to open the dialogue that you promised the public in your radio interview with Morgan Spurlock than to try and discredit his obviously outrageous stunt.
